Arrange a Perfect Homemade Gift Basket

Things You Need

300

A basket or a box

Filling paper shreds

Cellophane wrapping

Ribbons and strings

Tools: scissors, tape, stapler

And of course ... the gifts.

Get a Basket of the Right Size

Choose a basket large enough to contain all of your gifts but not too big to look empty after being packed with all the products.

Raise your Items to Stand Up

Place some colorful paper or plastic stuffing shreds on the bottom of the basket to give a nice idea of fullness. The stuffing will also help to protect the items when moved.

Find the Right Arrangement

Place the items in the gift basket, beginning with the taller ones and placing the smaller ones at the end. Be sure to find a position that highlights the presence of all of them in your composition. You may need to try different arrangements before being completely satisfied.

Secure the Items

Sometimes, tall items may be tied to the basket handler with the help of a ribbon or a string to prevent them from falling and sliding ruining your composition.

Wrap the Gift Basket

When you’re satisfied with the arrangement of your items, wrap the gift basket using a big transparent decorated cello bag or sheet. Place the gift basket on the center of the wrapping paper and fold the bag together on top of the basket, just over the handle. Secure the cellophane or the wrapping paper with a nice ribbon to close the bag and seal the content. You can now decorate the gift basket with more ribbons, strings or other adornments.

Don’t give up! With experience you will get better and better!
