This recipe for Green Beans in Spicy Tomato Sauce is a tasty idea for a quick and very easy side dish. Amazing as a side for a meat based dinner, can be a great choice also as standalone course with some steamed rice.

Cooking Directions:
Finely chop the garlic. Drain the green beans.
In a large pan, heat the olive oil and saute on high flame garlic and green beans for 1-2 minutes, stirring continuously.
Sprinkle with crushed red peppers to taste.
Add the tomato sauce and mix well. Let cook for about 10-15 minutes, to reduce the sauce. Stir from time to time.
Adjust with salt and pepper.
Just before serving, add fresh thyme and sage. Serve hot.
Tips:
If you use fresh green beans, snap the tips and remove the strings. Cut them in pieces if too big. Wash them briefly and cook them in rolling boiling water for about 2-3 minutes. They are done when cooked but still slightly crunchy. Drain well and use them as described in this recipe.
